iDesign is currently looking for qualified Course Support Specialists to join our course development team. This is a part-time, 1099 contract position. The opening is for future project needs.

What You'll Do
The Course Support Specialist should work both with the Lead Instructional Technologist (IT)/Course Support (CS) team members, faculty, and other team members in order to support the faculty in their execution of live lectures. The goal is to provide a seamless experience between the asynchronous and synchronous elements of the courses.
If you are the right candidate, you will work remotely on a contract basis. iDesign recognizes that a quality workforce is paramount to our success. - Complete daily pre- and post-lecture duties, as outlined on the Course Support checklist.
- Respond to and complete faculty requests in a timely manner.
- Maintain spreadsheets so that they are accurate.
- Maintain the Canvas calendar for each assigned course.
- Alert the Lead CS/IT when problems arise or issues that are out of the norm occur an assigned course.
- Complete any build requests from the Lead IT/CS using HTML coding for your assigned courses.
- Attend weekly Faculty Help Session Meetings as often as possible in order to build a relationship with faculty and offer insight / receive insight about the Canvas/UCommons experience.
What You Need to Get the Job Done
- Competency in the Canvas LMS, Slack, and Zoom.
- Superior organization and communication skills.
- Current, in-depth knowledge of instructional design and learning theory.
- Experience in online course development, in higher education, preferred.
- Demonstrated HTML coding skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a history of positive results achieved collaboratively.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through influence across complex organizational structures.
- Experience with ADA compliance.
- Experience with existing quality standards for course design (e.g., Quality Matters, Sloan-C).

- You are an expert in online learning, instructional design and technology, adult learning theory, and andragogy/pedagogy to support course development.

- You display excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills.
- You have the drive to build "near perfect" online courses according to project requirements and style guide.
- You have a background in Learner Experience Design.
- You have post-secondary teaching and learning experience.
