iDesign is currently looking for qualified Faculty Support Specialists to join our course development team. This is a part-time, 1099 contract position. The opening is for future project needs.

What You'll Do

The Faculty Support Specialist works with the faculty and project team members in order to support the faculty in their execution of live lectures. The goal is to provide a seamless experience for the students between the asynchronous and synchronous elements of the courses.

If you are the right candidate, you will work remotely on a contract basis. iDesign recognizes that a quality workforce is paramount to our success. We provide professional development and internal advancement opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a flexible, on-demand schedule to work on synchronous projects. Demonstrated HTML coding skills required.

You will:

  • Complete daily pre- and post-lecture duties, per the checklist.
  • Respond to and complete faculty requests in a timely manner.
  • Ensure spreadsheets are maintained so that they are accurate.
  • Keep Canvas calendar updated and maintained for each assigned course throughout the semester.
  • Alert the team lead when problems arise or issues that are out of the norm occur on an assigned course.
  • Complete any build requests from the Lead IT/CS using HTML coding for your assigned courses.
  • Update course content supplied by faculty in defined manner.

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • Competency in the Canvas LMS, Slack, and Zoom.
  • Customer service orientation in working with faculty.
  • Superior organization and communication skills.
  • Experience in online course development, in higher education, preferred.
  • Demonstrated HTML coding skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a history of positive results achieved collaboratively.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence across complex organizational structures.
  • Experience with ADA compliance.

  • You have a proven track record of working with academic and business partners to create engaging and effective online courses.
  • You demonstrate an ability to establish a collaborative and collegial relationship with subject matter experts (SMEs) and iDesign team members while still moving projects forward and meeting project deadlines.
  • You are proficient in CSS coding.
  • You are an expert in online learning, instructional design and technology, adult learning theory, and andragogy/pedagogy to support course development.
  • You have strong organizational skills, excellent follow-through, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • You display excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills.
  • You have the drive to build "near perfect" online courses according to project requirements and style guide.
  • You have a background in Learner Experience Design.
  • You have post-secondary teaching and learning experience.
